Prineville man arrested after shooting incident

A 21-year-old Prineville man was arrested after allegedly shooting an acquaintance during a dispute, according to Prineville Police.

Dakota Cumber and Victor Hernandez-Valle, 24, of Prineville, got into an altercation at about 11:23 p.m. Friday near SE Third Street and SE Court St. in Prineville, police said. The fight resulted in Cumber shooting Hernandez-Valle, police said.

Hernandez-Valle was transported to St. Charles Prineville with a gunshot wound. Police did not release Hernandez-Valle’s current condition, as of Saturday afternoon.

Cumber was arrested at 4:05 a.m. Saturday on charges of first-degree assault and unlawful use of a firearm. Cumber was booked in Crook County jail.
