Anniversary: Jay and Sam Farring

- Jay and Sam Farring are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.
Jay and Sam Farring, of Powell Butte, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday with an intimate family gathering in their home.
The couple were married Feb. 26, 1972, in Beaverton, Oregon. They drove off in a 1966 white Ford Mustang, which they still own.
They have five children, Heidi Douglass and her husband, Trevor Douglass, of Salem, Oregon; Holly Scholz, of Pendleton, Oregon; Sam Farring and his wife, Julie Farring, of Pendleton, Oregon; and Dan Farring, of Pendleton, Oregon.
Mr. Farring was the fleet mechanic for the U.S. Forest Service Ochoco National Forest in Prineville for 30 years. He enjoys restoring old cars, traveling and being with family.
Mrs. Farring has been a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator for 15 years. She enjoys making greeting cards, traveling and being with family.
They have lived in Central Oregon for 50 years.
