Put on your dancing shoes, and get ready for a night to remember at one of the last concerts the Redmond Social Club will be hosting.
The Redmond Social Club is a group that organizes a monthly dance night featuring live music by bands from all over Oregon. The club was founded in 2016 by Angela Boothroyd and Bob Eberhard, who both saw a need for a place to gather and dance the night away like “the good old days,” as Boothroyd puts it.

With the help of a growing number of sponsors, the Redmond VFW Hall, returning members and the attendance of guests, the club was able to flourish for many years and “fill the gap in what was, at the time, opportunities to socialize in Redmond,” said Boothroyd.
With the development of many local for-profit businesses providing more options for live music, dancing and other entertainment, Boothroyd said she is finally ready to “sunset” the Redmond Social Club after three more concerts.
Precious Byrd, among the more sought-after rock bands in the Pacific Northwest, will be putting on the third to last concert this Friday at 6 p.m. with a funky rock sound that will get people on their feet and filling the dance floor.
The six-piece dance and rock band has performed at venues all around Oregon and has done work with corporate brands including Nike, the Trailblazers and Sony, according to the group’s website bio.
The band members include bassist Lonnie Chapin and drummer Michael Summers, frontman Corey Parnell and brother Casey Parnell on electric guitar, saxophone player Andy Warr and lead guitarist Derek Williams.
“[Precious Byrd] kind of spans the generations with their music, and they just have great energy, put on a good show along with playing great music,” Boothroyd said. “They’re just one of the highlights of our season every year.”
