Airplane crashes at Sunriver Airport

An airplane crashed during takeoff at the Sunriver Airport Wednesday, according to the Sunriver Police Department.
On June 8, at around 5:13 p.m. the Sunriver Police Department responded
Sunriver police were called to the airport about 5:13 p.m. Wednesday after a plane lost control due to a gust of wind during takeoff. The plane skidded 20 feet off the runway, Sgt. Stephen Lopez said in a news release Thursday.
The account of the crash is from the pilot of the plane, a witness and airport personnel, Lopez said.
The Sunriver Fire and Rescue stopped a small fuel leak, and the airport runway was reopened after the plane was removed, according to the release.
