Howard and Nancy Friedman of Bend celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on Oct. 2. They celebrated at Timberline Lodge and travelled to Portugal, Sweden and Norway.

The couple were married at the Timberline Lodge in Mt. Hood in 1977.

Their children include Cory of Marina del Rey, Dustin (Leah) of Tempe, Arizona and Kelsey of Seattle. They have three grandchildren.

Mrs. Friedman is a retired bookkeeper. She is a Reiki Master, has volunteer at St. Charles and with Bethlehem Inn for the last 16 years as well as the Bend Food Project. She enjoys visiting her grandkids, travel, reading and snowboarding.

Mr. Friedman is a Partner at Compass Commercial Real Estate. He is on the board of directors and past President of Bethlehem Inn, a food preparer and server of 16 years at Bethlehem Inn, the vice chairman MBSEF board of directors at Bend Food Project volunteer. He enjoys cooking, snowboarding, fishing, crabbing at the Oregon Coast and friends and family.

The couple has lived in Central Oregon for 42 years.
