The West Coast leg of the seventh annual Slap Frost Tour will descend upon ye ol’ Domino Room on Tuesday night.
This reminds me of the olden days — the ‘90s and ‘00s, I mean — when underground hip-hop crews like Hieroglyphics, Living Legends, Freestyle Fellowship and Hellfyre Club used to tour around together, filling clubs in big cities and small towns alike with dope beats and thoughtful rhymes.
Slap Frost doesn’t seem to be an official crew, but it is a vibe, as the kids say, with like-minded Bay Area indie-rap heroes like Foreign Legion, Vocab Slick, Z-Man and DJ True Justice along for the ride. Each offers their own take on the West Coast’s underground sound, which means an evening of left-of-center hip-hop and head-nodding good times for you.
Also on the bill: Moon Magic, Outsiders Syndicate, Hobbyist and Savage Watson.
Slap Frost Tour: 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, $10, Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend, midtownballroom.com.
