A 61-year-old man died Thursday in a motorcycle crash in Redmond that police are investigating as a hit-and-run incident.

Redmond Police responded to a 911 call at around 10:52 p.m. Thursday describing a hit-and-run crash in the southbound lane of U.S. Highway 97 near NW Larch Avenue, according to a press release issued Friday.

Police arrived and found the motorcyclist, who was not named in the press release, and provided emergency medical care before medics took him to the hospital. He later died from his injuries.

Police believe the vehicle involved in the crash may have been a Dodge Ram pickup.

Police are asking people who live on W. Antler Avenue, Evergreen Avenue or Veterans Way near Highway 97 to review any video footage between 10:30 and 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, and look for the pickup.

People with information about the crash should contact the Redmond Police Department at 541-693-6911.

The Redmond Police Department declined to identify the 61-year-old man on Friday, said Sgt. Steven Binstock.
