- Graham Rhode Case, a Medford radiologist, has been missing since June 22.
Family and friends of Graham Rhode Case are holding out hope for information leading to the whereabouts of the Medford radiologist, who was last seen June 22.
A search effort that began Friday by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has yielded no leads in Case’s disappearance, said Sgt. Shawn Richards, search and rescue commander for the sheriff’s office.
Case, 47, a widowed father of three, is a white man with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 230 pounds.
Case owns a white 2014 Mercedes GL450 SUV with license plate number WC 26068, with a red “kissing lips” sticker on the bottom right side of the back window.
Case was driving the car at about 4:30 p.m. June 22, when his mother reportedly saw him back out of the driveway of his home on Aerial Heights Drive near Cherry Lane in Medford.
Jackson County Search and Rescue crews searched last weekend for Case without luck.
Sheriff’s officials reported Friday that Case had not accessed any of his credit cards or bank information since he was last seen by family.
Richards, the search and rescue commander, said crews had searched by land and via fixed-wing aircraft over the weekend, checking places that friends and family thought Case might visit.
Richards said teams spent two days searching five different areas with about a dozen personnel.
“After some interviews with family, we had come up with some possible areas to look, but unfortunately those didn’t develop into his location. So, now we’re just waiting for a clue or something to surface,” he said.
“We covered quite a bit of the county, and we had about five areas of interest that we went and looked at.”
Klamath Falls resident Meredith Case, the missing man’s sister, told sheriff’s officials that her brother did not have his cellphone with him because he lost it on a recent family trip to Mexico. She said her brother was last seen wearing a T-shirt and shorts.
Licensed to practice medicine since 2010, Case is a radiologist for Medford Radiology Group. Lewis said friends and family “knew something was really wrong” when Case failed to show up for work.
Case graduated from Oregon State University and earned his medical degree at Drexel University, according to the website for Medford Radiology Group.
Case lost his wife, April Case, to cancer, July 31, 2022. The couple had three children, a 6-year-old son and two daughters, ages 12 and 15.
Dr. Seth Urban, president of Medford Radiology Group, said colleagues at the practice were distraught over Case’s disappearance.
“We’ve all been just feeling heart sick about this. Devastated, since we got word, I guess it’s been almost two Fridays ago,” Urban said.
“Graham is just a very passionate family man, for sure. His family is everything for him. He’s got young children, and he obviously was very close with his wife who tragically passed away not too long ago.”
Urban said Case’s wife battled an aggressive form of brain cancer, and the couple traveled to a number of major cities for “the best of the best” treatment.
“For that form of cancer, unfortunately, a lot of it is designed to be palliative in nature. It’s intended to prolong life, but it’s also experimental. Unfortunately, after that long battle, she succumbed to that cancer, and I know that was very, very difficult for Graham,” Urban added.
“In spite of that, first and foremost, he wanted to be there for his family, but he also was incredibly passionate and dedicated in his professional work.”
Urban said his practice had received numerous calls from patients, community members and other health care providers since Case went missing.
“Graham was a very affable, incredibly nice and an all-around lovely person. We have been getting calls from all different corners of our medical community and elsewhere, reaching out with genuine concern and heartbreak, because they love Graham so much. It just gives perspective as to how beloved he is.”

“I don’t presume to know what was going on in his whole mind, but his passion for providing patient care and for radiology seemed like it was almost a bit of an escape for him,” Urban added.

Urban admitted concern with the growing length of time that Case had been missing.
“We’re all just thinking about his kids,” he added.
“Graham is kind of one of the community’s own. He was from here and he came back here to practice medicine. … He has a lot of family and friends in this area.”
Richards said he was hopeful the Fourth of July holiday would improve the odds of clues being found, including Case’s vehicle, which could indicate his whereabouts.
“I know that he, and for good reason, struggles with the loss of his wife. Whether that had anything to do with this situation or not is anyone’s guess,” Richards said.
“We’re hoping that all the people reading about it and all those eyes out looking is better than ours. It can be like looking for a needle in a haystack.”
