Police investigate ‘suspicious’ death of 28-year-old Bend woman

Bend police are investigating the death of a 28-year-old woman in northwest Bend that authorities are calling suspicious.

Police responded to the reported death at 11:18 a.m. on Tuesday.

A Bend man told police that went to a home on NW Hill Street to check on the woman on Tuesday and found her “unresponsive,” according to a press release from Bend Police spokeswoman Sheila Miller.

The man called the police from the scene, Miller said. Miller declined to say who the man was, how he knew the woman or what prompted him to go check on her.

Police arrived at the home and determined she was dead. Police have not yet released the woman’s name.

“Officers will be on scene at the home for an extended period of time as the investigation continues,” Miller said.

Miller said she could not yet elaborate on what made the woman’s death suspicious or how authorities believe she died.
