A driver crashed a vehicle through the Dollar Tree on Bend’s south side Tuesday afternoon, causing extensive damage to the store.

Police believe people were inside at the time of the crash, but no one was injured, said Bend Police spokeswoman Sheila Miller.

Callers reported the crash at the store near SE Third Street and Reed Lane at 4:08 p.m., Miller said. The vehicle, which appeared in photos to be a Subaru, drove completely into the store.

“It made a big mess,” Miller said.

Miller said she did not know what caused the driver to crash. Police were still investigating and had not issued any citations.

“Luckily it just went through the windows. The building is structurally fine,” said Dan Derlacki, Bend Fire & Rescue deputy fire marshal.
