Barry and Lynn Serafin

Barry and Lynn Serafin of Bend will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on August 24.

After meeting as students at Washington State University, they were married in Seattle in 1963.

The couple spent a few years in Portland, Oregon, where Barry reported and anchored the news for KOIN-TV, followed by similar work for a year and a half at KMOX-TV in St. Louis.

The Serafin’s then spent 35 years in the Washington DC area, where they raised their daughters Lisa and Sandra. Barry worked as a correspondent for CBS News and, later, ABC News.

Upon retirement, the couple returned to the Pacific Northwest and have lived in Central Oregon for seven years.
