NeighborImpact has a new program for Bend residents who need help paying their rent or mortgages.

Households with incomes at or below 80% of the area’s median income qualify for funding.

The program — dubbed the City of Bend Housing Assistance Program — received $90,000 for housing payments from the city that it will distribute. Participants will also receive online financial mentoring and one-on-one time with a financial counselor.

Applicants must live within city limits and use the house or apartment as their primary residence. Income limits vary by family size. To qualify, a family of four cannot make over $76,150 a year.

The Department of Administrative Services Office of Economic Analysis published the annual maximum rent increase on Tuesday as 10% for 2024.

The assistance application can be found online at https://www.neighborimpact.org/homeowner-help/city-of-bend-housing-assistance/. Applications can also be picked up at NeighborImpact’s Bend offices. They are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis.
