Another week, another impressive slate of shows over at Volcanic Theatre Pub (70 SW Century Drive, Bend). Let’s dig in!
Thursday night brings to VTP Texas singer-songwriter Vincent Neil Emerson, who local country fans may remember from his slot opening for Charley Crockett at Midtown Ballroom in the spring of 2022. Now he’s back on a headlining tour ahead of the release of his excellent new album, “The Golden Crystal Kingdom,” in November. Don’t show up late and miss opener Logan Ledger, whose “Golden State” is a slice of smooth, ’70s-inspired country-rock. 9 p.m., doors open 8 p.m. $18.
On Saturday, Volcanic will host underground hip-hop legend Kool Keith, whose various characters over the past three decades — Dr. Octagon, Dr. Doom and Black Elvis among them — have made him one of the genre’s most respected (and eccentric) MCs. Earth people: He was born on Jupiter! Now his helmet’s on; you can’t tell him he’s not in space. MC Homeless & DJ Halo open. 8 p.m., $18.
On Sunday night, singer-songwriter Tommy Prine will make a stop at Volcanic. I know what you’re wondering, and the answer is yes: Tommy is John Prine’s son. But Tommy’s not coasting on his famous last name. The guy’s new album, “This Far South,” proves he’s a talented folk-rocker in his own right. Jordan Smart opens. 8 p.m., $17.
Finally, Wednesday offers up an intriguing option for those of you needing your midweek musical fix: Robert Delong, a one-man electro-pop-rock act who scored a hit with K.Flay (“Favorite Color is Blue”) and whose sound should appeal to fans of bands like Twenty One Pilots and Glass Animals. Nifty! 9 p.m., doors open 8 p.m., $18.
