The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of Week for Week 7 of the fall season.

Cody Ortiz, a senior on the Crook County boys soccer team, and Abby Austin, a junior on the Caldera girls soccer team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Ortiz was nominated by Crook County coach Bryan Housley after Ortiz provided great defense for the Cowboys, helping them pick up a tie against The Dalles Oct. 9, and a win over Molalla Oct. 12.

Austin was nominated by Caldera coach Gavin Meyers after Austin scored three goals and assisted on another during Caldera’s wins last week against Bend High (3-1) Oct. 9, and Ridgeview (5-0) Oct. 13.

A new batch of nominations will be announced on Mondays. Local players are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
