Cross-country: Summit’s Laughlin-Hall seventh at Northwest Regional Championships

EAGLE, Idaho — Summit cross-country senior Noah Laughlin-Hall finished seventh Saturday in the boys championship race at the NXR Northwest Regional Championships at Eagle Island State Park.
Laughlin-Hall posted a time of 15 minutes, 13 seconds in the 5,000-meter race, and now has a chance to earn an at-large individual bid to the NXN Nike Cross Nationals, set for Portland’s Glendoveer Golf Course on Dec. 2.

Laughlin-Hall’s teammate, junior Hayden Boaz, finished 20th in 15:33.
Nathan Neil, of Bozeman XC, won the race in a course-record time of 14:49.
Storm Over Bend (Summit) finished 10th as team. North Idaho XC won the team event with 113 points, and Southern Oregon Distance Project (Crater) finished second with 118, both earning team bids to NXN.
In the girls championship race at NXR, Eva Dicharry led the Summit girls with a 36th-place finish in 18:32. Crescent Valley’s Emily Wisniewski won the race in 16:53.
Storm Over Bend finished 15th as a team with 340 points. Forest Park XC (Lincoln) won the girls team event with 84 points and Stumptown XC (Jesuit) was second with 106, both qualifying for NXN.
