At 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Academie de Ballet Classique will hold an open house for the public to tour its new location in Bend’s Wagner Mall, 1900 NE Third St., Suite 104.

According to a press release, former professional ballet dancer Valerie Holgers moved to Central Oregon to retire and enjoy area slopes, but it wasn’t long before she concluded she could contribute to Bend’s dance scene. She opened ABC, her second dance school and the state’s second Royal Academy of Dance Ballet School. ABC recently celebrated 15 years and, with it, a new, state-of-the-art space for their 258 dancers.

On Thursday, the public is invited to tour the studio, take a mini-class, play dance games, meet staff and teachers, enjoy treats and more. There will be a kids dance at 3:45 and an adults-only mini-ballet class at 6:30.
