Summit runner qualifies for Nike Cross Nationals in Portland Saturday

Summit cross-country senior Noah Laughlin-Hall received an at-large individual bid to race in the Nike Cross Nationals (NXN) at Portland’s Glendoveer Golf Course on Saturday.
Laughlin-Hall is the lone runner from Central Oregon to qualify for nationals.

Runners from eight regional meets qualified as teams or individuals for the national finals in Portland.
Fields of 22 seven-person clubs and an additional 50 individuals (male and female) will race on Saturday. The boys race is set for 10:05 a.m.
Laughlin-Hall has a chance to put an exclamation point on his outstanding senior season with a solid race in Portland.
He finished seventh on Nov. 11 in the boys championship race at the NXR Northwest Regional Championships at Eagle Island State Park in Idaho, posting a time of 15 minutes, 13 seconds in the 5,000-meter race. Laughlin-Hall was third in the Class 5A Oregon state championships on Nov. 4 in Eugene.
