A Bend man accused of attempting to lure a minor for sex was arrested in a police sting operation Tuesday at a skatepark, where police said they found alcohol and condoms in his car.

Later, Bend Police said, they also found psilocybin mushrooms at the man’s home.

Hunter James Nash, 26, faces a variety of charges for alleged alcohol, drug and child sex crimes, according to a press release from Bend Police spokeswoman Sheila Miller.

Police on Monday started investigating adults attempting to lure minors online for sex, the press release said. One Bend Police officer posed as a 16-year-old girl.

According to police, Nash contacted the officer pretending to be the girl. Then, Nash “sent explicit photos, as well as photos showing bags of psilocybin mushrooms he intended to share,” the release said.

He also offered to buy alcohol and condoms as they arranged to meet at Ponderosa Skate Park on SE Wilson Avenue in Bend, police said.

Nash went to the park Tuesday night and was arrested, police said. Bend Police then found condoms and a 12-pack of White Claw hard seltzer in his car.

Police then booked Nash in the Deschutes County jail.
