A Deschutes County drug enforcement team searched three properties, seized marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms and arrested a man Tuesday on suspicion of growing marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school, according to a press release from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Kelly James King, 39, of Bend, was arrested shortly after authorities searched a property on Logan Avenue at 7 a.m. on Tuesday. Authorities also searched addresses on Tumalo Place and Tumalo Road, near Three Sisters Adventist Christian School.

In all, authorities seized about 100 pounds of marijuana, 50 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and a gun, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities say they found exposed and unpermitted electrical wires, breakers and outlets.

They also found black mold, an infestation of marijuana mites and groundwater contaminated by herbicides, pesticides and fertilizers.
