Redmond Fire & Rescue responded to 4115 NW Xavier Ave. in northwest Redmond about 1 a.m. on Tuesday to a structure fire.

Fire crews were met on the scene by occupants of the home who said there was smoke coming from the crawl space.

Firefighters saw light smoke coming from the foundation vents and determined there was an active fire in the crawl space. Firefighters cut multiple holes in the floor of the residence to locate and extinguish it. There were no reported injuries and no animals were harmed, according to Redmond fire.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electrical wiring failure.

Damage was estimated at $85,000.
