OSU-Cascades to host book reading about living with physical disabilities

A Paralympic medalist will join the co-authors of a book of essays about living with physical disabilities for a reading and discussion at Oregon State University-Cascades on Jan. 23.
Kelly Crowley, a medalist in swimming and cycling at the Paralympic Games, will join co-authors Lily Collison and Kara Buckley for a reading of essays from “Pure Grit: Stories of Remarkable People Living with Physical Disability.”
The book’s subjects include a former Major League Baseball pitcher born without a hand, a digital designer with muscular dystrophy and a diplomat with hemiplegia, or partial paralysis.
The event will take place in Tykeson Hall at 5:50 p.m., though doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Registration is required, though the event is free. A signing will take place after the discussion, and books are available for purchase from online stores.
