Former Oregon quarterback Ty Thompson will continue his career in the AAC.
Thompson, who entered the transfer portal last month, committed to Tulane on Friday. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Thompson appeared in 17 games as a backup over the past three seasons.
He went 24 of 31 for 297 yards with four touchdowns and an interception and rushed for 48 yards while playing in seven games this season. In 2022, he went 11 of 20 for 72 yards with two interceptions in seven games and in three games in 2021 he was 7 of 15 for 87 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
A four-star prospect in the class of 2021, Thompson was ranked No. 40 overall and No. 7 among quarterbacks, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was the highest-rated high school quarterback signee in Oregon history and still ranks among the top 20 UO recruits in the modern era.
