Prineville man apprehended in drug trafficking investigation
A Prineville man was arrested Saturday morning and charged with unlawful possession and distribution of large quantities of fentanyl and methamphetamine, authorities said.
The arrest of 35-year-old Travis Ingram concluded a long-term investigation by the Central Oregon Drug Enforcement team. Before his apprehension, authorities said they suspected Ingram of transporting large quantities of illicit substances from Yamhill County into Central Oregon for distribution in the Redmond and Prineville areas.
In collaboration with Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Central Oregon Drug Enforcement agents intercepted Ingram for tailgating near Sisters along Highway 20.
After law enforcement pulled Ingram over, agents deployed narcotic detections dog Bonnie, who signaled to her handler that she detected fentanyl. Using that evidence, detectives obtained a search warrant for Ingram’s vehicle and found a substantial quantity of methamphetamine and counterfeit Oxycodone tablets with fentanyl.
