Applications for choice-option schools in Bend-La Pine Schools are open, as well as opportunities to request a priority attendance area change.

Choice-option schools provide school experiences distinct from those at neighborhood schools, including magnet and gifted and talented programs. Area change requests are requests for children to attend neighborhood schools that are not in their current area. 

 Students applying must be enrolled in Bend-La Pine Schools for this school year and next year.

Choice option school applications for first through 12th graders, as well as for all priority attendance area change applications, are due Jan. 19 at 3 p.m.

After the priority window closes on Jan. 19, requests can still be made. Requests are approved or denied based on student needs, available space, the particular program or grade and other factors.

Applications for kindergartners and the district’s dual-immersion program are due March 22 at 3 p.m. Choice option schools and the dual immersion program are organized by a lottery system.
