The McDonald’s All American Games announced their nominees this week, and four Oregon players are among the 724 listed.
Representing Class 6A girls are Benson’s Mahogany Chandler-Roberts — a two-time Portland Interscholastic League Player of the Year and a commit to the University of Central Florida — as well as Sherwood’s Ava Heiden — the No. 36 player nationally in the 2024 senior class and a commit to Iowa.
Katelyn Senn, from Class 2A’s Bandon, is also a nominee for the girls.
The state’s only boys basketball nominee is from Class 3A’s Westside Christian. Dax Hanzlik, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard.
Players from around the country are nominated for the McDonald’s All American games by coaches, athletic directors or a member of the game’s selection committee.
The final teams for the boys and girls McDonald’s All America teams will be announced on Jan. 23. The All American game will be held on April 2 in Houston.
