Boot Juice visits Bend’s Domino Room

You may love it. You might hate it. Personally, I can’t decide how I feel about it.

But there’s no denying that “Boot Juice” is an evocative combination of words. On one hand, it conjures an icky image of liquids pooling at the bottom of a pair of galoshes, or perhaps a leaky Timberland. On the other hand, there’s Boot Juice, the Northern California band playing Bend’s Domino Room Friday night.

Formed in 2017, Boot Juice is a big ol’ group — you can find photos of them in seven-, eight- and nine-piece configurations — that uses electric and acoustic guitars, three vocalists, bass, drums, saxophone and trumpet to build a sound that bounces back and forth between bluegrassy Americana, swingin’ rock ‘n’ roll and bluesy soul. Imagine a band that blends Creedence Clearwater Revival, Railroad Earth and Carolyn Wonderland into one sound and you’re in the right ballpark.

Boot Juice is touring behind its new album “The Right Place,” which was released in October. Local faves Billy and the Box Kid will open the show.

Boot Juice, with Billy and the Box Kid: 8 p.m. Friday, doors open 7:30 p.m., $15, Domino Room, 51 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend, midtownballroom.com.
