Seattle Seahawks to interview Dallas Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Dan Quinn for head coach position: Report (e-edition)

The Seattle Seahawks have started the process for filling their head coach vacancy to replace Pete Carroll.

The Seahawks have set up two interviews with two candidates and requested permission to interview six other candidates, according to multiple reports. General manager John Schneider said Tuesday he expects to begin virtual interviews on Wednesday.

One name is very familiar to Seahawks fans.

The Seahawks will meet with Dallas Cowboys’ defensive coordinator Dan Quinn on Thursday, according to a report. The Seahawks are also expected to interview Carolina Panthers’ defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero.

The Seahawks have requested permission to interview Las Vegas Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris. The Seahawks also want to interview Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, Miami Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith and New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

Quinn, 53, was the Seahawks’ defensive coordinator under Carroll during the 2013 and 2014 seasons, when the Seahawks appeared in back-to-back Super Bowls. He was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons from 2015 to 2020, where he guided the Falcons to Super Bowl 51.
