Bend resident Rob Imhoff announced his intent Wednesday to run for Deschutes County Commission.

His main goals will be finding solutions to housing and homelessness and creating better financial accountability for the County Commission, according to a statement he released.

Although Imhoff’s candidacy filing states he has no prior governmental experience, he has experience volunteering on sports advisory boards, and from 2008 to 2012, he volunteered with Icon City, a nonprofit organization working with homeless teens in Central Oregon.

Imhoff also applied for an appointment to a vacant Bend City Council seat in 2022, for which he was not selected.
