COCC and OSU-Cascades close early Thursday

Central Oregon Community College and Oregon State University-Cascades planned to close early Thursday due to bad roads.

OSU_Cascades announced it would close its campus at 2 p.m. Students were advised to check Canvas for remote class delivery.

COCC cancelled all classes and events scheduled for 1 p.m. or later Thursday. The closure applies to all campuses and remote personnel.

The reason COCC gave for the closure is adverse road conditions, which have continued to affect Central Oregon for the last two weeks. Campuses were also closed Wednesday after freezing rain added to road instability throughout the region.

All further announcements regarding closures can be seen on the college’s website or interested parties can sign up for COCC’s emergency notification system.
