- The High Desert Museum's avian flight program, Raptors of the Desert Sky, features owls, hawks and other birds of prey that swoop low over the crowd.
The High Desert Museum’s Free Family Saturdays are back beginning this month.
The museum will not charge admission fees on Saturday and Feb. 24, the museum announced Monday.
Museumgoers can access current exhibitions like Andy Warhol’s “Endangered Species” series and “Timber Culture,” a historical photography collection. People can also meet a raptor every hour of the free admission days between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., the museum said.
Free family Saturdays at the museum are a more than 20-year tradition with Mid Oregon Credit Union, the free admission day’s sponsor, Kyle Frick, the museum’s vice president of marketing, said in the Monday announcement.
“We are proud to be able to continue this tradition and provide access to thousands of Central Oregonians who can experience this world-class museum,” Frick said.
The museum is open daily during the wintertime from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information can be found at highdesertmuseum.org.
