Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Jan. 15-20 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Hailey Smith, La Pine basketball: In two games last week, a 47-33 loss to Harrisburg and a 42-25 win over Siuslaw, Smith scored a combined 26 points and had 10 assists and 12 steals while shooting 75% from the free throw line.
Mackenzie Shearon, Redmond wrestling: The 155-pounder pinned four of her opponents at the Lady Dragon Invitational on Jan. 20 in Dallas to finish first in her weight class and help the Panthers win the team title.
Anna Bales, Crook County basketball: In the Cowgirls’ 51-36 win over The Dalles Jan. 15, the freshman guard scored 26 points, had 18 steals, tallied six assists and grabbed five rebounds to help Crook County start Tri-Valley League play with a win.
Boys
Ian Pearson, Redmond basketball: Pearson scored 31 points, grabbed nine rebounds, dished out seven assists, had two steals and hit the clinching basket to beat Ridgeview 66-63 on Jan. 16.

Eric Larwin, Bend wrestling: Larwin won his 144-pound match with a pin in a dual meet against Caldera on Jan. 20 to improve his record to 29-4 on the season. The team captain has 24 pins this season.
Trace Benner, Caldera basketball: In the Wolfpack’s 54-48 win over Mountain View Jan. 16, Brenner scored 12 points and gathered nine rebounds to help Caldera stay unbeaten in Intermountain Conference play.
