Andrew McCaskill: My tip for using LinkedIn is, number one, take full advantage of all of our tools. The first one, job alerts.

I love job alerts because you set the criteria for a job that you’re looking for, and every time a job that meets your criteria hits our platform, you get an email straight to your inbox. Here’s the deal, the early bird gets the worm. When you respond to a recruiter quickly, they’re much more likely to respond back to you.

The second tool is job preferences. You get a chance to pick all of the things that are really important to you, like 401(k) matching or work life balance or being able to work remotely. And when those jobs hit our platform, you get an email about those as well. It highlights them so you can be smarter about your job search.
