Two of the best shooters in basketball are set to face each other in a unique competition at NBA All-Star weekend in Indianapolis.
Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry and WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu — a legend at the University of Oregon who now plays for the New York Liberty — will compete in a three-point shootout as part of the weekend of All-Star festivities Feb. 16-18. The rules of the competition aren’t set yet, but both players bring major pedigree from behind their respective arcs.
Curry is a two-time NBA three-point contest champion and is the league’s all-time leader in three-pointers made. Ionescu broke Curry’s record last year for best score in a three-point contest for women or men, scoring an astonishing 37 by missing just two of her 25 shot attempts. Ionescu also set the WNBA record for three-pointers in a season in 2023.
