Here are the candidates for The Bulletin’s Athletes of the Week for Jan. 29-Feb. 3 as nominated by local coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.

Girls
Kaylyn Fildes, Crook County basketball: In the Cowgirls 55-50 win over Madras on Jan. 30, the senior post turned in a triple-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 10 steals to help Crook County take over first place in the Tri-Valley Conference.
Joey Dean, Caldera wrestling: The 121-128 pounder won all three of her matches with first-round pins at the Frostbite Open in La Pine on Feb. 3 to help the Wolfpack finish second in the 10-team tournament.
Olivia Tranby, Mountain View Nordic skiing: Tranby won the 5K cross-country race at Hoodoo Ski Area in 19 minutes, 16.2 seconds, over 30 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. She helped the Cougars finish first among OISRA Southern League teams competing.
Boys
Chimi Gilbert, Trinity Lutheran basketball: In two games this week the freshman guard averaged 18 points, four rebounds, three assists and four steals in wins over North Lake (74-35) on Jan. 30 and Prospect Charter (80-34) on Feb. 3. Gilbert scored 26 points in the win over Prospect Charter.
Rex Cordell, Mountain View Nordic skiing: Cordell won the 5K cross-country ski race at Hoodoo Ski Area Feb. 3 in 14:46.5 to help the Cougars pick up an OISRA Southern League team win.
Trace Benner, Caldera basketball: In Caldera’s 71-59 loss to Summit on Jan. 29 the senior forward turned in a double-double for the Wolfpack, finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
