- Republic Services of Central Oregon Reopens Offices, Hires Staff for Customer Support and Education
When lifelong Oregonian Cheyenne Beauchamp moved to Central Oregon four years ago, she fell in love with the environment and opportunity to be outdoors.
“Like so many people in Central Oregon, I spend most of my free time enjoying outdoor spaces,” said Beauchamp. “I want those spaces to be preserved and accessible for many years to come. That’s why I am so excited about my new role.”
In January, Beauchamp joined Republic Services of Central Oregon as a Customer Education and Outreach Coordinator.
“My new role with Republic Services of Central Oregon is to support and educate customers. I am available in the local offices so that customers can get in-person support if they have questions about anything from trash and recycling service to how to compost,” said Beauchamp.
Republic Services of Central Oregon is committed to being the sustainability partner for the Central Oregon community. In addition to reopening office locations to the public on a rotating basis, Republic Services is rolling out new services and resources for customers, including enhanced service change notification tools and waste assessments.
“To protect our community for future generations, Republic Services is dedicated to preserving natural resources by recycling materials from the waste stream,” said Courtney Voss, Municipal Manager for Republic Services of Central Oregon. “Not only do we need to increase the reliability and availability of our recycling services, but we also need to dramatically increase customer participation in and understanding of recycling and composting. We need residents, businesses, and visitors to Central Oregon to support efforts keep materials out of the landfill.”
Voss also asked customers for help verifying that their contact information with Republic Services is up to date and current.
“We use the contact information provided by customers to send out notifications when there are delays to service or changes to programs,” said Voss. “If a customer hasn’t received a notification from us before, they should reach out to verify that the information we have on file is accurate.”
When asked what customers should know about recycling, Beauchamp encouraged customers to take the time to learn more about what belongs in their recycling cart.
“Take the time to learn and make sure you keep a copy of your recycling guide easily accessible. If you don’t have a copy of your recycling guide, please ask me for one,” said Beauchamp. “And don’t forget that the best possible solution for our local environment is to avoid using a disposable product in the first place.”
Republic Services of Central Oregon customers can drop into Republic Services Office locations for in-person customer support, coffee, and conversation about recycling. Offices are open on a rotating schedule from 8 AM to 4 PM.
