Dee (Dianne) Price

February 11, 1941 – December 18, 2023

Dee Price peacefully passed surrounded by family in her La Pine home following a battle with cancer. Dee was born February 11, 1941 at Schofield Barracks in Oahu, Hawaii to Dori (d. 1998) and Irving Brackett (d. 1949). Their home was located along one of the airfields during the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. As the Japanese fighter pilots strafed and bombed the airfield – Dee’s mother placed her inside a washing machine to protect her from flying bullets and became known as “The Washing Machine Baby.” Dee previously resided in Alaska, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Southern California’s desert communities of Victorville and Hesperia. She has lived in La Pine since 1978 and worked in housekeeping in Sunriver in the late 1970s to mid-1980s. She became a certified nursing assistant and provided adult foster care health services before retiring in the early 2000s. Dee loved spending time outdoors exploring Oregon, fishing, camping and working in the yard. Dee is survived by daughter Susan Berger of Bend, son Erik Price of La Pine, grandchildren Alysa Price (Colorado), Sean Lawson (Bend), Alex Price (Springfield) and two great grandchildren, Ellie and Emma. She is predeceased by son David (d. 1989), husband Alfred (d. 2010) and brother Seth Tompkins (d. 2023).
