Ever wanted to be a chorister in an opera?
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of an opera chorus, here’s your chance.
OperaBend will present the opera “La Taviata” Giuseppe Verdi’s tragic tale of Parisian courtesan Violetta, April 19-21 at Pinckney Center for the Arts on Central Oregon Community College’s Bend campus.
The show’s producers promise a fresh take on Violetta’s foray into the complexities of true love, and what’s more, they’re extending an invitation to folks interested in being part of the chorus.
“No formal training is required — just bring a positive attitude and a willingness to learn!” reads a call for choristers from OperaBend.
Rehearsals take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays at COCC’s Bend campus, with additional rehearsals starting the week of April 6 leading up to the production’s April 19 opening.
Rehearsals are already underway. To become a chorister or for more information, email operabend@bendbroadband.com.
