Democratic Rep. Jason Kropf will seek a third term as representative of House District 54, which covers much of Bend.
Kropf registered his candidacy for the 2024 primary election on Jan. 26, according to Secretary of State filings.
“I have filed for reelection, and it would be an honor to continue to serve my community,” Kropf confirmed in a text message.
However, he said, he’s focused on the legislative session currently underway rather than reelection plans.
“Right now, all my attention is on continuing to deliver on the urgent priorities that matter most for my district and for all Oregonians: affordable housing, homelessness, the addiction crisis, and keeping our neighborhoods safe,” he said.
Kropf sits on six legislative committees, including as co-chair of the recently formed Joint Committee on Addiction and Community Safety Response. The committee has been assigned bills this legislative session addressing Measure 110 reform.
In 2020, Kropf flipped House District 54 for Democrats after beating out Republican incumbent Cheri Helt in an expensive, contentious race.
Since the first of the year, Kropf has received nearly $14,000 in campaign contributions, according to the Secretary of State’s campaign finance tracking site.
No other candidates have filed to run for Kropf’s seat. The filing deadline is March 12.
