From the editor’s desk: Bulletin introduces benefits exclusively for subscribers

Published 12:00 pm Friday, February 16, 2024

On Sunday, The Bulletin will publish a story analyzing childhood vaccination rates at schools in Central Oregon.

The story will cover why vaccines are required to attend public school, how Oregon enforces, or fails to enforce, that requirement and which schools have the lowest rates of vaccination. Reporters Suzanne Roig and Noemi Arellano-Summer talked to health experts, educators and lawmakers. Their report will outline why the issue matters to education, to healthy communities and ultimately to kids and families.

The story will only be accessible to subscribers of The Bulletin.

Why? Because we believe in the value of our exclusive, quality reporting. And we hope you do, too.

Starting Sunday, we’ll be introducing a new feature on our digital platforms: exclusive subscriber-only content.

At The Bulletin, we are deeply committed to delivering high-quality local journalism that informs, inspires and empowers our readers. For more than 120 years, we have provided comprehensive coverage of the most important issues shaping Central Oregon. However, as you’re aware, producing top-notch journalism requires substantial resources and dedication.

In order to sustain our commitment to excellence and continue providing you with the most insightful and impactful journalism, we’ve made the decision to introduce subscriber-exclusive content. This means that some of our most important and in-depth articles, investigations and analyses will now be accessible only to our valued subscribers.

By becoming a subscriber, you’re not only gaining access to this exclusive content but also directly supporting the work of our talented team of journalists. Your subscription enables us to invest in quality reporting, pursue important stories that matter to you and maintain our editorial independence.

We understand that this change may come as a surprise, but please know that it is a necessary step to ensure the sustainability and long-term viability of The Bulletin. We remain committed to providing a balance of content, continuing to offer valuable insights to all of our readers while rewarding our loyal subscribers with unlimited access to our best work.

Also know that critical reporting where public safety is concerned  — such as in the event of a wildfire or coverage of some of our most vulnerable communities — won’t be restricted.

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to consider subscribing today to unlock access to our exclusive content and join a community of engaged readers who are passionate about staying informed about Central Oregon and making a difference in the world.

Thank you for your continued support of The Bulletin. We’re excited about this new chapter and look forward to sharing even more impactful stories with you in the days ahead.
