Bend-La Pine to make up snow days in June
Bend-La Pine Schools will make up two lost school days at the end of the year due to the January snow and ice storms, said Scott Maben, district spokesperson. School will be held June 17 and 18, he said.
The district had three all-day closures due to weather last month.
Students are required to have a minimum number of hours of instruction per school year, though it varies by grade level. According to the Oregon Department of Education, students in kindergarten through eighth grade are required to receive at least 900 hours of instruction; students in grades nine through 11 require at least 990 hours, and 12th graders need at least 966 hours.
