One person died in a rollover crash near Sisters on Tuesday evening, according to the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency personnel responded to the crash near the intersection of Wilt and Hinkle Butte roads at around 8:30 p.m., said Sgt. Chris Barringer, a sheriff’s office spokesman, in a press release issued Wednesday. Barringer said a Dodge Ram pickup was found on its side on the shoulder of the road just north of Sisters.

The driver died at the scene of the crash, according to the news release. No other vehicles were involved. The sheriff’s office was withholding the name of the driver while it notifies family members.

The crash prompted authorities to temporarily close Wilt Road.
