Woodhaven Estates, located at 61647 Daly Estates Drive and 61646 Pettigrew Road, will have a mix of two- and three-bedroom, townhome-style units with single-car garages and fenced-in backyards.

Project name: Woodhaven Estates

Address: 61647 Daly Estates Drive and 61646 Pettigrew Road

Developer: BCL LLC

General Contractor: Hive Development LLC

Owner: Affordable housing nonprofit Thistle & Nest

Cost of the project: About $16.3 million for the first two phases.

Project details: A total of 133 townhome-style units will be built on the site in a multi-phased development. The units will be a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes with single-car garages, fenced-in backyards and solar-ready wiring and roofs. Their modern design features a 70s architectural style inspired by homes in the neighborhood west of the development.

Amy Warren, board president of Thistle & Nest, said the first two phases of the project include 38 homes. Eight homes are already occupied. Construction is complete on nine homes, which are awaiting occupancy approval. Another 11 homes are under construction and expected to be completed in August. Construction on another 10 homes is anticipated to begin in the next couple of months.

The homes cost between $250,000 and $350,000, Warren said.

The development is in an area of town currently experiencing a lot of growth. The area in southeast Bend is expected to add up to 2,500 homes as well as multiple businesses.

Warren said Thistle & Nest has plans to build a total of 609 homes in Bend, Madras and Prineville, 160 of which are fully funded. The nonprofit uses a land trust model, in which it owns the land and sells the dwelling to a household, according to its website.

Construction began in February of 2023.
