A Prineville man was arrested Thursday after a long-term drug investigation in Crook County.
Charles McQuage, 60, was identified as an alleged drug trafficker in the Crook County area by agents in late 2023, according to a news release from Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Kent Vander Kamp.
The Central Oregon Drug Enforcement team, working with several other agencies, led an investigation into the distribution of drugs in Prineville and Crook County that concluded with the arrest.
Officers searched McQuage’s car and home in the unincorporated area of Juniper Canyon. They uncovered quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl, a 9 mm pistol, a 9 mm AR-style pistol, a butane honey oil extraction lab, butane and U.S. currency.
McQuage was charged with unlawful distribution, manufacture and possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl, being a felon in possession of a weapon, commercial drug offense and unlawful manufacture of a marijuana item.
