NFL Draft 2024: Bo Nix to visit the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday

- Oregon quarterback Bo Nix sits (#10) scrambles as the No. 5 Ducks face the No. 3 Washington Huskies in the Pac-12 championship game at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023.
Bo Nix is projected to be selected in the middle of the first round or he could fall all the way into the second round of the 2024 NFL draft.
The Las Vegas Raiders, who are expected to select a quarterback in the first round, are doing their homework on quarterbacks who could be available when they’re on the clock at No. 13 and they have scheduled a visit with the former Oregon Ducks’ star quarterback on Friday, according to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer.
Former Washington Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. visited the Raiders on Thursday.
Nix threw for 4,508 passing yards, 45 touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 77.4% of his passes in 2023. He established all-time program single-season records for passing yards and touchdowns and an NCAA single-season record for completion percentage. He spent two seasons with the Ducks after transferring from Auburn.
Knowing that the top-tier quarterbacks — USC’s Caleb Williams, LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy and North Carolina’s Drake Maye — are likely to be long gone before they pick, the Raiders are kicking the tires on the second tier group, which includes Nix and Penix Jr.
The Raiders signed journeyman Gardner Minshew to a two-year, $25 million deal during free agency. They also still have second-year quarterback Aidan O’Connell, who started 10 games during his rookie season in 2023.
The NFL draft is scheduled for April 25-27.
