The votes are in for The Bulletin’s Athletes of Week for for March 25-30.

Gavin Derr, a senior on the Mountain View baseball team, and Rylee Morris, a junior on the Redmond softball team, were voted by Bulletin readers as the boys and girls Athletes of the Week.

Morris was nominated by The Bulletin’s sports staff after Morris struck out 10 batters in Redmond’s 5-2 win over Thurston at the North Medford Spring Break Tournament on March 26, while allowing just one earned run. At the plate, the junior had a triple and a double while driving in one run.

Derr was nominated by The Bulletin’s sports staff after he was near perfect on the mound over two appearances at the Lion Invitational in San Diego. The senior southpaw threw 5⅓ innings in two appearances, where he surrendered no hits or runs while striking out 10 batters and issuing just two walks to help the Cougars win all four of their games during spring break.

New nominations will be announced on Tuesday, April 9. Local players are nominated for the honor by coaches and The Bulletin sports staff.
