Central Oregon fans of live performance don’t have to go far for a show this weekend.
Cascades Theatre in Bend is putting on a teen production of Ben Elton’s musical “We Will Rock You,” based on the music of Queen. High Desert Chamber Music has brought the SAKURA Cello Quintet to Central Oregon for the first time. The Deschutes Theatre Company will perform a murder mystery comedy. And Ellipse Theater Company is touring Mitch Albom’s “Tuesdays with Morrie.”
‘We Will Rock You — School Edition’
The Cascades Teen Theatre production will perform the Queen jukebox musical Friday through Sunday. Elton’s story tells of a globalized future without musical instruments where a handful of rock rebels, Bohemians, fight against the all-powerful Globalsoft company and its boss, the Killer Queen, for freedom, individuality and the rebirth of the age of rock.
Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Sunday at 2 p.m.; $39, $35 for students and seniors; Cascades Theatre, 148 NW Greenwood Ave., Bend; cascadestheatrical.org or 541-389-0803.
