Six Central Oregon players were named to the Class 4A basketball all-state teams.
With both the boys and girls teams reaching the Class 4A state tournament, Madras had two players named to the state’s first team.
After leading the White Buffaloes to a share of the Tri-Valley Conference title and a fourth-place finish in state (their highest since 2015), senior Seneca Ball was part of the five-player first team for 4A boys.
Senior Rylan Davis capped off her high school career on the 4A girls first team after leading Madras to a share of the Tri-Valley title and a berth in the state tournament for the third-straight season.
Crook County’s Anna Bales was second-team all state and was the youngest player among the first and second teams. The freshman helped the Cowgirls to a share of the Tri-Valley title and a state playoff berth.
The Crook County boys, who finished sixth at the 4A state tournament, had a pair of honorable mentions in senior Tyson Martinez and sophomore Bryce Lowenbach. Madras senior Sasha Esquiro also received honorable mention.
All-state teams are determined by a vote of the state’s coaches, compiled by the SBLive Oregon staff, and published jointly by SBLive Oregon and The Oregonian/OregonLive.
