In case you missed it, the organization long known as Sisters Folk Festival, Inc. took the opportunity of a new year to rename itself SFF Presents. It’s a change in name only, and one that better reflects the group’s mission and its activities, which for years have included not just putting on a folk festival, but also other events, concerts, educational programs and more. (To be clear, the name of Sisters Folk Festival itself is not changing.)

With that as background, here’s some news: SFF Presents is hosting three concerts at The Belfry this spring. One of them — Breabach from Scotland — already happened (and tickets sold out). Next up is Sisters Folk Festival fave Willy Porter, who’ll return to town Thursday prepared, presumably, to play a stack of tunes from across his three-decade career. Porter is a skilled storyteller, a soulful songwriter, a dazzling guitar player and a soulful performer.

SFF Presents’ spring series wraps up on Thursday, May 16 with a double bill featuring roots duo Chatham Rabbits and bluegrass trio Stillhouse Junkies. You can learn more about that one at sffpresents.org.
