Central Oregon Community College is hosting two fun runs in May.

The first is a 2- or 4-mile Jungle Run at 5:30 p.m. May 9 and the second is the 2-mile, 465-stair Storm the Stairs at 5:30 p.m. May 16.

The runs are free for COCC students, $15 for advance registration for other runners and $20 for day-of registration. All entrants receive a T-shirt and dinner. Following both events, there will be a prize drawing. Advance registration is available on COCC’s website.

Due to construction on College Way, the Jungle Run has a slight detour.

Rubber snakes found along the Jungle Run course can be redeemed for prizes. The run, which begins at the COCC track, includes mud pits, log crossings and sharp ascents and descents.

The Storm the Stairs run is a challenging course that begins at the COCC track and winds through the Bend campus.
