Deschutes County Sheriff's Office cruiser

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office will hold the 2024 Youth Academy from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. July 16 and 17 at the sheriff’s office, 63333 U.S. Highway 20.

The event will allow teens from ages 14 to 17 to have hands-on experience learning self-defense and more about the different types of police work.

Training will take place mainly in the classroom, though self-defense training takes place outside.

Applications are available at https://bit.ly/3xQEvvl and due before May 31. Applicants will be informed of their acceptance by June 14. There is no cost associated with the event.
